Black Friday 2017 deals – Amazon set to slash prices ahead of official sale | Tech | Life & Style

Black Friday 2017 is just a few weeks away, and Amazon have revealed when their deals will begin ahead of the big pre-Christmas shopping period.

While Currys have already started slashing prices, Amazon shoppers will have to wait a little longer for deals to start.

Amazon UK have revealed their Black Friday Deals Store will open at midnight on Friday November 17.

This is a week before Black Friday 2017 which this year falls on November 24.

The Amazon Black Friday Deals Store will remain open until 11.59pm on Sunday November 26.

During this busy shopping period, the online retail giant will be offering ‘Deals of the Day’.

You will be able to get money off a range of products such as Amazon devices, electronics and pet supplies as well as kitchen and home & garden items.

Amazon will also offer thousands of ‘Lightning Deals’ – these are available at a discount, in limited quantities, for a short period of time.

The Amazon Lightning Deals for Black Friday 2017 will be introduced throughout the sale with new deals available as often as every five minutes.

During Black Friday last year, some of the most popular deals on Amazon were offers for the Fire TV Stick and Amazon Echo Dot.

Amazon also offered money off the Echo speaker and their Fire range of tablets.

Speaking about Black Friday 2017, Doug Gurr – the Country Manager for Amazon.co.uk – said: “Customers tell us they love getting extra low prices so they can save on their Christmas shopping.

“This year we have hundreds of small businesses from our Marketplace offering great deals on their unique and creative products, making it even easier to find perfect gifts with our Black Friday sale.

“We’re making Black Friday more fun than ever by holding our first ever Home of Black Friday pop up in Central London and have just released our TV advert which features our iconic boxes having a sing-a-long to celebrate the festive season.”

While Amazon have yet to reveal what Black Friday 2017 deals they will be offering, looking at last year may give a good indication of what to expect.

During Black Friday last year, Amazon slashed the price of the Echo Smart Speaker from the £149 RRP to £119.

They also offered the same saving on the Kindle Paperwhite, cutting the price from £109.99 to £79.99.

Amazon also had great savings for gamers, offering bundles on the PS4 and Xbox One.

The PS4 500GB model was bundled with Uncharted 4 and FIFA 17 for £199.99, while the standard edition of FIFA 17 was available for £32.99.

It remains to be seen whether Amazon will offer similar savings for FIFA 18.

Ahead of Black Friday 2017 starting, Forbes reported that Amazon.com have confirmed to them a number of US deals.

They said Amazon US will be offering a $30 saving on the Kindle Paperwhite, a $30 saving on the Amazon Echo and a $30 saving again for the All-New Fire HD 8 Tablet with Alexa.

They reported that the All-New Fire 7 Tablet will also be reduced to $29.99.

Black Friday, which takes place on the day after Thanksgiving, falls on November 24 this year.

Many deals will appear online as soon as the clock strikes midnight, while a majority of UK’s high street retailers will open at 6am.

The shopping bonanza will last all weekend, and is followed by Black Friday’s online equivalent Cyber Monday on November 27.
