Captain Jordan Henderson will lead Liverpool into their Champions League clash with FC Porto tonight.

The England international and vice-captain James Milner have both been recalled to the Reds’ midfield by Jurgen Klopp.

The manager has gone for experience and control over pace and ambition in the centre of the park.

Emre Can, who serves a one-match ban, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the two players that way.

The only other change from the side which won 2-0 at Southampton on Sunday sees Dejan Lovren return at centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk, who makes his European debut for the club.

Joel Matip has to settle for a place on the bench. Klopp has decided not to risk Joe Gomez, who has recently returned to fitness after a knee injury.

As a result Trent Alexander-Arnold keeps his place at right-back. Andy Robertson is preferred to Alberto Moreno on the left.

Subs: Mignolet, Gomez, Moreno, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Ings, Matip.
