Two of Birmingham’s favourite stores are going head-to-head online.
Primark and Poundland have become embroiled in a Facebook spat today.
Shoppers have been left amused at the war – which is all over the price of a pair of jeans.
It started with an initial post from Poundland who claimed it was the best retailer when it comes denim, with its clothing brand Pep & Co pricing a pair of jeans at £5.
Poundland’s post was a video on its Facebook page, in which the retailer compared the its pricing to that of rival store Primark, who price its jeggings at £6, according to Mirror Online.
However, Primark did not take the news lying down and instead were quick to respond by actually slashing the price of said jeggings from £6 to £4.50.
There’s no word yet from Poundland over whether Pep & Co will be matching Primark’s new price, but does this mean that Primark is starting to see the new budget clothes brand as a major competitor?
The retailer said :”Seems awkward you had to move from £6 to £4.50… “
Watch this space Primark.
But this isn’t the only entertaining post from Poundland this week, with the budget high street retailer stirring up quite a storm over social media as of late.
