Good evening! Welcome to CricketCountry’s live coverage of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018. We will bring you the live updates and interesting tweets from the match. After a month-long gruelling cricket action in the PSL 2018, we are headed towards the final of the tournament where defending champions Peshawar Zalmi will take on champions of the first edition, Islamabad United at Karachi.

This game means a lot as its cricket back in Pakistan. The diverse Pakistan has many internal issues to deal with but this sport unites the cricket-crazy nation that has been bereft quality cricket for some years now. And this port city, Karachi, a cricket hub has missed its share. It’s hosting it’s first high-profile cricket game since Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test in February 2009. Yes, that ill-fated series.

While Multan Sultans had topped the points table for long, both Islamabad and Peshawar came back well to be where they are. While, Islamabad won the inaugural edition in 2016, the Darren Sammy-led Peshawar won the tournament in 2017.

Kamran Akmal and Luke Ronchi have been the stars of their respective teams. Strange that a month back, both were opening for Honk Kong Island United in the Hong Kong T20 Blitz and both failed to get going as their team finished last.

Peshawar have won their last four games, while Islamabad have won four out of their last five games. Both sides are evenly matched but Islamabad will miss their skipper Misbah-ul-Haq.

Likely XIs for the teams:

Islamabad United: Luke Ronchi (wk), Sahibzada Farhan, JP Duminy (c), Hussain Talat, Samit Patel, Asif Ali, Samuel Badree, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Sami, Amad Butt

Peshawar Zalmi: Kamran Akmal (wk), Andre Fletcher, Mohammad Hafeez, Saad Nasim, Liam Dawson, Darren Sammy (c), Chris Jordan, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Umaid Asif, Sameen Gul
