The Reds have held firm throughout 2017 to keep Coutinho out of Barcelona’s clutches.
But the Catalan giants’ kit manufacturer Nike seem to have given the game away a move is close.
An advert on Nike’s website last night was spotted offering a special deal on Barcelona shirts with top target Coutinho’s name.
It read: “WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS – Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou. Get your 2017/18 FC Barcelona kit with the Magician’s name on it. Act fast – free personalisation only available until 6 January.”
Reports overnight also suggest Barcelona are aiming to ultimately reach a £125m agreement with Liverpool this week.
Liverpool: Team average – 6.57
“We saw a flurry of bets late last night at an alarming rate”
And in the wake of latest developments, bookmakers Coral have suspended betting on Coutinho joining the La Liga club in January.
A Coral spokesperson said: “This latest gamble looks to suggest Barcelona are just waiting for the ink to dry on the contract before announcing their deal to sign Coutinho.
“We saw a flurry of bets late last night at an alarming rate which forced us to pull the plug on the market.”
Coutinho’s odds shortened to as little as 1/4 before Coral closed the market.
The 25-year-old played in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Leicester at Anfield yesterday.
But there will be serious doubt growing as to whether he now features at Burnley on New Year’s Day tomorrow (3pm).
